What exactly is a birth doula?
A birth doula is someone who supports a pregnant mother from time of hire, through labor and some postpartum. The doula will provide emotional, physical and informational support to the person and their partner. A birth doula does NOT offer medical advice or exams.

When should I begin looking for a doula?
Begin looking for a doula when the time is right for you! Some doulas fill spots faster than others, months in advance. Others can fit you in close to your due date! Most doulas provide 1-3 prenatal appointments, where you will discuss birth plans and possible situations. I suggest leaving time during your pregnancy to be able to meet with your doula a few times before the birth.
-
How much does a doula cost?
A doula’s cost mainly depends on where they live, experience, training and what’s included in their services. This can usually range anywhere from $500-$2500. If you are interested in learning the costs of my service you can use the form above or contact me directly to discuss!
-
Are payment plans available?
Most doulas offer a few options for paying. If a payment plan is what you are leaning towards then bring it up to your doula! I always am willing to work with each client and their individual needs. If you are curious about what payment plans I offer, click the contact button to have a chat with me!

Can I hire a doula for a hospital birth?
YES. A common misconception is that doulas only go to home births. That is simply not true! Birth is a force of its own, and unpredictable. Doulas help prepare you for that in a home AND hospital birth. However your birth unfolds, your doula will be there to help you transition from one stage to the next.

How does a doula collaborate with my partner?
A doula is not here to take over your partners role! We are here to collaborate with your partner, and even sometimes offer them support during the birth. Providing them breaks, cueing them on when to provide you with different kinds of support. I make sure to become an addition to your team, not a replacement to your partner.
